Saskatcewan Sunset over the Duck Marsh
I snapped this photo on a Ducks Unlimited marsh where I had taken 5 waterfowl hunters from Memphis for an afternoon of duck hunting. The duck hunting action on this marsh wasn't fast on this afternoon but steady and interesting. The final harvest tally for six hunters on this fine Saskatchewan waterfowl hunting afternoon was 30 ducks including Mallard, Pintail, Green-winged teal, Blue-winged teal, Gadwall, Widgeon, Spoonbill, and Bufflehead. When added to the morning harvest of 4 Speckle-bellies (White-Fronted geese), 2 Greater Canada geese, 16 Lesser Canada Geese, 1 Snow geese, and 4 mallards it was a pretty decent opening morning for 6 guys who had never hunted waterfowl in Saskatchewan.
