Saskatchewan Waterfowl Harvest
Saskatchewan field waterfowl hunts often surprise hunters with the diversity of Ducks and Geese making themselves available for harvest even if the decoy spread is focused on one waterfowl species. This photo taken at the waterfowl cleaning shack after a morning Saskatchewan goose shoot represents this well. Proudly exhibited is a mix of Snow Geese, Ross Geese, Canada Geese, mallard ducks, Pintail ducks, and others. Although you can see the day was sunny, the fields were wet. Sometimes we use the four wheeler and black trailer shown in this photos to transport decoys, blinds, and hunters to their morning waterfowl hunt when it it too wet to drive our trucks into the harvested Saskatchewan fields of barley, wheat peas, and oats.
