Perfect Duck Hunt

Arlo Rizzini and his son Alberto operate Rizzini Irlanda in Ireland that offers Woodcock hunting and trophy Northern Pike fishing. They were here along with 2 other clients and Carlo's video director in 2009 to film Carlo as he hunted Canada Geese, Ducks, and Snow Geese for a television series that Carlo hosts in Europe on SKY Channel. In all our years hunting waterfowl, we have never experienced the bad weather, the uncooperative birds, the mud, and the wet and cold conditions that we did that week. While we did get our guests into some good shooting, some of the filming required couldn't be done because of the conditions. Close to the end of the week we were still trying to get Carlo into a situation where they could get some really good footage of Carlo hunting ducks. Finally the weather was more favorable one afternoon and we were able to get him set up nicely on the edge of this duck pond. We set out a few floating duck decoys and a Mojo Spinning Wing decoy and prepared for action. Carlo said before he started that all he needed was 8 ducks to finish his movie. He impressed Chris and I by dropping the first 8 ducks, including 2 mallards, 1 Green-winged teal, 2 blue-winged teal, 2 Redheads, and one Spoonbill from his chair in the cat-tails, and all with 8 shots. When we cleaned the birds we were amazed to see that 6 of the 8 were head shot only.
