Early in the Saskatchewan waterfowl season many of the white geese that present themselves as easy targets to our snow goose hunters are Ross Geese. They are lots of fun to watch as they often dive-bomb, flip and spill head long into the decoy spread. I remember one very windy afternoon when we weren't hunting waterfowl but fishing for trophy walleye on the South Saskatchewan River when we spent a couple hours marveling at the Ross Geese as they spent the afternoon playing in the wind. The added benefit for white goose hunters in Saskatchewan is that these little geese make great table fare as they are typically tender, juicy, and tasty.
