Saskatchewan goose hunting conditions can range from shirt sleeve warm and sunny all the way to cold and nasty. A couple years ago at the tail end of our Saskatchewan waterfowl hunting season Sandra and I had the pleasure of hosting Les and Alan Jacobson from Alberta. I set the boys up in a rolling field of cut but unharvested barley that the Canada Geese had been feeding in for a while. This goose shoot was pretty well a slam-dunk as we buried the layout blinds in the windrows of cut grain, set out our decoy spread using mostly Bigfoot and Green-Head Gear full bodied decoys and Real-Geese Silhouettes and waited for the geese. From the smiles of Les Jacobson and his dad Alan with their harvest of big honkers you can tell they had a great shoot!
